Gran Hotel Independencia, due to its location and view of Pachuca’s Monumental Clock in Hidalgo, nowadays is proud to have been a witness of years passing by and history, when we hear the sound of the clock's bells that speak of their passing through time.
In this construction there was what was known as the Don Francisco de Paula Villaldea Count of Casaalta house, that goes way back to 1841 when it stopped being a home to turn into the “House of the Stagecoaches", that departed to Mexico City on long journeys of up to 8 hours. Later, known as the Grenfell Hotel, a second floor is added in 1905.
